BBC First to launch on Caiway

BBC Worldwide’s premium drama channel extended by 200,000 subscribers

BBC Worldwide today announced that BBC First will launch on Caiway in the Netherlands and will be available to their 200,000 subscribers from 15 June 2017.

The fully localised channel is the home of the very best of British drama specifically tailored for Dutch audiences. BBC First, currently available in 6.7 million households in The Netherlands, offers a range of hugely popular series such as Sherlock, Luther, Silent Witness, Death in Paradise and The Durrells amongst many others. Since its launch in 2015, the channel has won over viewers and is now one of the top 20 in the region (based on viewing figures*).

Brand new six-part series The Good Karma Hospital starring Amanda Redman (New Tricks) and Amrita Acharia (Game of Thrones) has its territory premiere exclusively on the channel in August, while highly anticipated television film Maigret: Night at the Crossroads, with Rowan Atkinson in the lead role, will debut on June 24.

Also airing this summer on BBC First will be Rillington Place starring Tim Roth, The Coroner series two, Midsomer Murders series 11 and psychological drama Born to Kill. For full schedules, please visit the website.
